India is one of the biggest open markets as it is a developing country. There are various urban and rural problems that are still unresolved. A survey of people's shopping habits has been completed recently and they've come up with the top 10 list of the things that people hate when supermarket shopping. There is no surprise on the number one issue - It was long queues at the check-outs with 62 per cent of the people surveyed stating this to be their big issue when shopping in a supermarket. Supermarkets are constantly looking at ways to improve customer experience. So we thought of inventing a remedial electronic product to catch up with this problem which is named as i-Trolley to ease the queues at Shopping Malls and the main beneficiaries are both retail super market owner and customer. Our product requires the processing power of Intel IoT products especially that of Intel Galileo. The built- in Wi-Fi, ADC, Gyro meter and accelerometer of the Intel Galileo board will help us to realize the project. When a product is dropped into the trolley after scanning the unique bar-code which contains its price, make, serial number etc., the same product info will be displayed on the screen of the trolley. After the customer has finished shopping, the bill summary is displayed on the screen and he/she will also get an SMS which contains the bill details, and they can proceed to the billing counter and pay the bill without any delay. By using this facility, the supermarket can even replace the paper based billing system and thereby joining hands to the "go green and clean" initiative by our country.
